BrezelHaus began with a simple dream: to bring the authentic flavors of Germany’s bakeries to the bustling streets of Bengaluru. For us, bread has never been “just bread.” It’s a craft, a culture, and a way of coming together. In Germany, there’s a word for this — Brotzeit — which literally means “bread time,” a cherished daily ritual of sharing loaves, spreads, and conversations.
That’s the spirit we wanted to recreate here in Indiranagar.
Our Beginning
Our story starts long before our ovens ever fired in Bangalore. It begins in a family kitchen in Germany, where the pretzel wasn’t a snack but a symbol — twisted with care, baked to a glossy finish, sprinkled with salt, and passed across generations.
With that same tradition, we opened the doors of German BrezelHaus Bakery & Bistro, in the heart of Indiranagar, making us a true German café in Indiranagar. From day one, our goal was to offer something Bangalore hadn’t quite tasted yet: authentic German breads, pretzels, and cakes — all made fresh daily, the way they’ve been made for centuries in Europe.
Why Pretzels?
Every culture has its food icon. For Germany, it’s the pretzel. Soft on the inside, crisp on the outside, golden, salty, and twisted with precision — it’s more than just a bakery staple. To us, it represents craftsmanship, community, and the joy of simple, honest food.
At BrezelHaus, our pretzels are handmade daily, brushed for that perfect Bavarian shine, and baked until they have the ideal crunch-meets-chew. Many customers tell us, ‘these are the best pretzels in Bangalore.’ For us, that’s the greatest compliment.
The Journey to Bangalore
Why Bangalore? Because this city is full of curious food lovers. People here appreciate authenticity, and they welcome stories from around the world. Indiranagar, with its creative, buzzing, neighbourhood vibe, felt like the perfect place to plant our roots. It’s our way of bringing authentic German bread to India, right here in Bangalore.
Over time, our menu grew — from the classic OG pretzel to sourdough breads, Kaiser rolls, pretzel baguettes, Käsekuchen (German cheesecake), and seasonal specialties like Christmas Stollen and Easter HefeZopf. Each one tells a story of heritage, but with a warm welcome for Indian tastes.

Today, BrezelHaus is more than just a German bakery in Bangalore — it’s a home. A place where you can pause, sip HausBrew coffee/kaffee, tear into warm bread, and feel like you’ve been invited into a kitchen in Stuttgart or Berlin.
